Compliance Oversight

The Army Human Research Protections Office (AHRPO) provides compliance oversight across all Army institutions conducting or supporting human subjects research through the following activities:

  • Monitor ongoing compliance with 32 CFR 219, DODI 3216.02, AR 70-25 and related DoD-level policy within Army Assurances and Human Research Protections Programs (HRPPs)
    • Initial and ongoing HRPP assessment
    • Initial and ongoing review of DoD Assurances
    • Headquarters Level Administrative Review (HLAR)
    • Review and respond to allegations of non-compliance
  • Facilitate compliance with other regulatory frameworks addressing human subjects research, including FDA, and HIPAA
  • Conduct a program of not-for-cause evaluations of institutions
  • Review and respond to incident reports from DoD Assured institutions
